June 17, 2025 (MLN): China has issued a warning to the United States regarding its role in the Iran-Israel conflict, accusing President Donald Trump of inflaming the situation with his recent statements.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Gu Jia-kun, described the U.S. president's remarks as “adding fuel to the fire” and cautioned that any attacks on Iran could further widen the scope of war.

He stated that igniting flames, pouring oil, issuing threats, and increasing pressure will not prove effective, and such actions will only escalate the conflict.

The spokesperson emphasized that threats will not bring peace to the Middle East and that diplomacy is the only viable solution to de-escalate the situation.

He added that Beijing is willing to play a mediating role to help reduce regional tensions.

In a press conference held a day earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry also expressed concern that if the Iran-Israel conflict intensifies, Middle Eastern countries will be the first to suffer.

The spokesperson voiced China’s deep concern over Israeli attacks on Iran and urged both parties to take immediate steps to de-escalate tensions, prevent further instability in the region, and create conditions for resolving the conflict.

Meanwhile, the Chinese embassy in Israel has urged its citizens to leave the country “as soon as possible.”

It is worth noting that U.S. President Donald Trump recently warned Iranian citizens to evacuate Tehran immediately.

He stated that Iran should agree to a deal, calling the loss of human lives shameful, and insisted that Iran must never possess nuclear weapons.
