Cement despatches post more than 7% growth in FY26

July 03, 2026 (MLN): Cement despatches recorded a growth of 7.21% during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, with overall volumes rising to 50.515m tons compared to 47.116m tons during the last fiscal year, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
Local sales increased from 37.906m tons during FY25 to 41.507m tons during FY26, showing a rise of 9.5%, said a press release issued.
Exports, on the other hand, declined by 2.19% as volumes dropped to 9.008m tons during FY26 compared to 9.210m tons exported during the last fiscal year.
During June 2026, total cement despatches stood at 4.331m tons against 3.658m tons despatched during the same month last year, showing an increase of 18.38%.
Local despatches were recorded at 3.541m tons compared to 2.793m tons in June 2025, up 26.78%. Export despatches, however, declined by 8.73%, falling from 865,387 tons in June 2025 to 789,840 tons in June 2026.
North based cement mills despatched 3.019m tons of cement in June 2026, up 16.39% against 2.594m tons despatched in June 2025.
South based mills despatched 1.31m tons during the month, 23.23% higher compared to 1.065m tons despatched in June 2025.
In domestic markets, North based mills despatched 3.019m tons in June 2026, an increase of 26.53% against 2.386m tons despatched in June 2025.
South based mills despatched 522,021 tons in local markets during June 2026, up 28.24% compared to 407,069 tons during June 2025.
There were no exports from North based mills during June 2026.
Exports from the South rose by 20.12% to 789,840 tons in June 2026 from 657,527 tons in the same month last year.
For the full fiscal year, North based mills despatched 34.720m tons of cement domestically, up 10.83% from 31.329m tons despatched during the last fiscal year.
Exports from the North declined by 53.85% to 777,207 tons during the current fiscal year compared with 1.683m tons exported last year.
Total despatches by North based mills increased by 7.53% to 35.498m tons during the current fiscal year from 33.013m tons during the last fiscal year.
Domestic despatches by South based mills during the current fiscal year stood at 6.787m tons, up 3.18% over 6.577m tons despatched during the last fiscal year.
Exports from the South also rose by 9.36% to 8.230m tons during the current fiscal year compared with 7.526m tons exported last year.
Total despatches by South based mills increased by 6.48% to 15.017m tons during the current fiscal year from 14.104m tons during the last fiscal year.
A spokesman for APCMA expressed optimism that demand for cement will remain strong in the coming months on both domestic and international fronts.
It was further stated that collective efforts by all stakeholders to amicably resolve geo-political tensions would result in competitive and stable energy supplies, addressing concerns over high energy and fuel costs.
