CSIL Group's tech unit CST steps up AI, digital push

August 06, 2026 (MLN): Crescent Star Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd (CST), a member of the Crescent Star Insurance Limited (PSX:CSIL) Group, is entering its next phase of growth as the Group's dedicated technology and digital innovation company.

CST was set up to build technology solutions for the insurance, financial services, and corporate sectors, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI), digital distribution, process automation, data analytics, enterprise software development, and customer-centric digital platforms.

Ms. Momina Kamal Cheema has joined Crescent Star Technologies as Head of Operations, effective August 1, 2026, and will be based at the CSIL Group's Islamabad office.

She brings a strong academic and research background in AI, large language models (LLMs), software engineering, data analytics, and technology project management, and will lead CST's AI and digital transformation initiatives to support the company's strategic growth.

CST's initial focus areas include:

  • AI-enabled insurance solutions
  • Digital insurance distribution and customer acquisition
  • AI-powered customer service and virtual assistants
  • Online policy issuance and claims automation
  • Data analytics and business intelligence
  • Enterprise software development
  • Process automation and digital transformation
  • Technology consulting for financial institutions and corporate clients

CST will initially work closely with Crescent Star Insurance Limited to build modern digital capabilities and enhance customer experience through technology-driven solutions, before expanding services to external clients across Pakistan and select international markets.

The establishment of CST reflects the Group's long-term commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and the responsible adoption of AI to create sustainable value for customers, shareholders, and the wider financial services industry.
