CDNS raises profit rates across key savings instruments

October 01, 2026 (MLN): The Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS) has revised profit rates upward across several of its key savings instruments, reversing the recent downward trend with gains of up to 74 basis points on selected certificates and accounts.

Under the updated structure, Special Savings Certificates (SSC) and Special Savings Accounts (SSA) registered the largest jump, climbing 74bps to 11.82% from 11.08%.

Regular Income Certificates (RIC) also recorded a significant increase, rising 60bps to 11.76% from 11.16%.

Welfare-oriented instruments posted moderate gains. Returns on the Behbood Savings Certificate (BSC), Pensioners Benefit Account (PBA),were all nudged higher by 12bps, bringing their yield to 12.72% from 12.60%.

Longer-term conventional products moved higher as well, with the rate on Defence Savings Certificates (DSC) increasing by 19bps to reach 11.80%, up from 11.61%.

Islamic savings products mirrored the upward adjustment across medium- and long-term tenors. The return on the Sarwa Islamic Term Account (SITA) for a 3-year tenor rose 41bps to 11.57%, while the 5-year SITA tenor increased by 54bps to 11.70%.
