Burj Clean Energy Modaraba inaugurates 7.5MW wind captive power project

May 13, 2026 (MLN): Burj Clean Energy Modaraba (PSX:GEMBCEM) , managed by Burj Investment Management Limited, has inaugurated a 7.5 MW wind captive power project at the plant site of Power Cement Limited, which marks a milestone in what is being described as Pakistan's first green captive power transaction between the two entities.

The project is being developed by the Modaraba under a lease arrangement for Power Cement Limited and represents a notable step forward in Pakistan's industrial decarbonization and renewable energy transition.

The inauguration follows the initial material information disclosure made on September 29, 2025, regarding the transaction between the two parties.

Financing for the project has been structured through a Rs1.5 billion project finance facility arranged by a consortium led by The Bank of Punjab, with participation from National Bank of Pakistan and Pak Kuwait Investment Company.

The wind power project is expected to enable cleaner and more efficient energy generation for Power Cement Limited by increasing reliance on renewable sources while reducing dependence on fossil fuels, in line with the company's environmental sustainability objectives.

The development further highlights Burj Clean Energy Modaraba's focus on delivering Shariah-compliant clean energy solutions tailored for Pakistan's industrial sector.
