Bilal Bin Saqib positions Pakistan at the intersection of drones, blockchain

May 22, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan has positioned itself at
the forefront of blockchain and drone technology convergence, with Minister of
State and Chairman of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA),
Bilal Bin Saqib declaring the deep integration of both technologies a major
driving force behind the next wave of global industrial innovation and
digitalization.
Addressing global delegates at the 10th anniversary of the
World Drone Congress in Shenzhen, he outlined how blockchain integration can
transform drone ecosystems across logistics, supply chain management, data
governance, smart cities, industrial oversight, and emergency response systems significantly enhancing safety, transparency,
and operational efficiency while strengthening trust and compliance across
industries, according to a press release issued.
Bilal Bin Saqib, delivered the keynote address at the
opening ceremony of the Congress, where Pakistan was designated as the Country
of Honour.
He noted that Pakistan is actively developing a
forward-looking virtual assets regulatory framework designed to support
innovation and emerging technologies, and stressed that the blockchain-drone
nexus presents significant opportunities for cross-border collaboration and
scalable global models for autonomous systems.
The Congress, regarded as one of the world's leading
platforms for drone technology, UAV innovation, and the low-altitude economy,
brought together participants from more than 120 countries and regions.
He expressed hope that the event would deepen international
cooperation, accelerate technological innovation and regulatory harmonization,
and contribute to sustainable global digital transformation.
