May 21, 2026 (MLN): VIS Credit Rating Company Limited has reaffirmed its entity ratings for Bhanero Textile Mills Limited (PSX:BHAT) at A+/A1 (Single A Plus/Single A One), maintaining a Stable outlook on the Pakistan Stock Exchange-listed textile manufacturer.

The medium to long-term rating of 'A+' reflects good credit quality with adequate protection factors, while the short-term 'A1' rating signals a strong likelihood of timely repayment of short-term obligations backed by excellent liquidity.

The previous ratings action had been announced on January 30, 2025.

VIS noted that while BHAT maintains a well-established presence in the textile spinning and weaving segment, emerging pressures on operating performance and financial metrics are evident and are expected to persist in the near term.

Margin compression, driven by limited pricing flexibility in a commoditized industry and rising input costs, continues to weigh on profitability and debt coverage indicators.

Leverage has also edged upward, reflecting increased reliance on short-term borrowings amid subdued export demand and ongoing working capital requirements.

These pressures are partly mitigated, however, by a favourable interest rate environment and access to concessional financing lines.

VIS added that while liquidity remains adequate and cash flows are sufficient for debt servicing, coverage indicators have weakened, leaving limited cushion against further financial stress. The company also remains exposed to interest rate and input cost volatility.

On the positive side, management's initiatives in renewable energy expansion and value-added diversification are expected to gradually improve operational efficiency, though their tangible impact is anticipated to be slow in materializing.

Looking ahead, VIS cautioned that the ratings remain sensitive to sustained margin and cash flow pressure, any further build-up in leverage, and adverse movements in interest rates or demand conditions.

The aforementioned information was disseminated through a notification to Exchange.
