Bank Makramah secures court approval for major restructuring

November 20, 2025 (MLN): Bank Makramah Limited (PSX: MBL) has received formal sanction from the Islamabad High Court for its Scheme of Arrangement, marking a significant step in the bank’s restructuring process.

The Board of Directors confirmed the court’s approval and instructed management to take all necessary actions to implement the sanctioned scheme, the company's filing on PSX revealed today.

The approval is in line with the Companies Act, 2017, and follows an earlier disclosure by the bank on November 19, 2025.

This move is expected to strengthen Bank Makramah’s operational framework and enhance shareholder value.

In a related development, the bank’s sole sponsor shareholder, Nasser Abdulla Hussain Lootah, has proposed an adjustment to his shareholding in the bank.

The Board has directed management to evaluate the legal, accounting, and regulatory implications of this proposal to ensure it aligns with the best interests of the bank and its shareholders.
