BAHL Board greenlights talks to make AHCML a wholly-owned subsidiary

August 20, 2026 (MLN): Bank AL Habib Limited
(PSX: BAHL) has secured in-principle board approval to enter negotiations for
acquiring an additional 33.33% shareholding in AL Habib Capital Markets (Pvt.)
Limited (AHCML).
Its a move aimed at converting AHCML into a wholly-owned
subsidiary of the Bank, subject to requisite approvals from the State Bank of
Pakistan (SBP) and other regulatory and corporate authorities.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Bank's Board
of Directors held on August 20, 2026.
The information was disseminated through a
notification to the Exchange.
In parallel, Bank AL Habib Limited reported a 22%
decline in its consolidated net profit for the half-year ended June 30, 2026
(1HCY26), recording Rs15.41bn compared to Rs19.79bn in the corresponding period
last year.
Alongside the financial results, the bank announced an
interim cash dividend of Rs3.5 per share.
