BYD Shark 6 PHEV launched at Rs19.95m

July 28, 2025 (MLN): With a launch price of Rs19.95 million and bookings starting at Rs3.95m, BYD Pakistan has introduced the Shark 6 PHEV the country’s first plug-in hybrid pickup truck marking a pivotal step forward in the evolution of Pakistan’s automotive industry and raising the bar for technology, performance, and safety in this segment.

Combining performance, technology, and safety, the Shark 6 PHEV features a 1.5T hybrid engine paired with dual permanent magnet synchronous motors, delivering a combined output of 321 kW and 650 Nm torque.

The vehicle accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and offers a combined driving range of up to 800 kilometers, with an electric-only range of approximately 100 kilometers thanks to its 29.58 kWh BYD Blade Battery.

Its dimensions reflect its robust yet refined design5,457 mm in length, 1,971 mm in width, and 1,925 mm in height, supported by a 3,260 mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 230 mm.

Inside, the Shark emphasizes comfort and advanced connectivity, offering a 25-inch LCD instrumentation display, Dynaudio® 12-speaker premium sound system, ventilated and heated power-adjustable seats, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, a 50W wireless charger, NFC digital key, dual-zone automatic climate control, and rear-seat air vents.

Safety features are comprehensive, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, 360° camera system, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Brake, Hill Descent Control, and multiple airbags across all seating rows.

This launch not only introduces advanced hybrid technology to Pakistan’s pickup segment but also a growing shift toward smarter, safer, and more sustainable mobility solutions in the country.
