100 index recovers yesterday's losses as the index jumps up over 2%

KSE - 100 Index demonstrated an extraordinary performance today as it recovered the previous session’s losses, and gained 875 points by the end of the day, pulling the index points up by 2.16% to 41,339.

The day’s trades went as high as 41,461 points while the low was recorded at 40,463 at the session end. The index moved between a range of 997 points

107.4 million shares were traded today at KSE – 100, at a value of PKR 6.4 billion.

Commercial Banks, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies, Fertilizers and Cement were the sectors that performed the finest at KSE – 100 today, having jointly contributed 583 points to the index.  Chemical and Food & Personal Care Products on the other hand took away about 13 points from the index, thereby turning out to be the worst performers of the day.

In total, 82 companies concluded the session positively while 10 companies ended negatively.

Within KSE All Share, the index climbed 506 points up, to end the session at 30,019 points. The day high was 30,115 points while the low logged in at 29,513 points.

A total of 190.2 million shares, worth PKR 7.7 billion, were traded at KSE today,

Cement led the sector turnover, having traded 24,363,100 shares.

276 companies advanced in today’s session, 51 declined, while 11 companies remained as they were.
