PSX Closing Bell: Stayin' Alive

December 23, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 171,073.73, showing a decrease of 130.44 points or 0.08%.

The index traded in a range of 899.00 points showing an intraday high of 171,867.31 (+663.14) and a low of 170,968.31 (-235.86) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 239.25 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 39 closed up, 61 closed down, while 0 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were KEL (-3.61%), SSGC (-2.95%), MEHT (-2.58%), YOUW (-2.47%), and KTML (-2.11%).

On the other hand, top gainers were KOHC (+9.55%), PTC (+6.01%), DCR (+5.73%), MTL (+2.30%), and MUREB (+1.84%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-100.07pts), FFC (-82.59pts), SYS (-72.67pts), LUCK (-52.39pts), and OGDC (-44.60pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were HBL (+84.13pts), KOHC (+83.44pts), UBL (+60.00pts), PTC (+56.37pts), and DCR (+41.47pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-105.61pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-103.51pts), Fertilizer (-51.91pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-51.29pts), and Textile Composite (-43.98pts).

While the index was supported by Commercial Banks (+257.36pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (+36.60pts), Automobile Assembler (+31.52pts), Cement (+17.52pts), and Refinery (+8.19pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 103,120.17 with a net loss of 206.29 points or 0.20%.

Total market volume was 650.14 million shares compared to 684.55m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs28.26 billion showing a decrease of Rs1.84bn.

There were 347,006 trades reported in 480 companies with 151 closing up, 286 closing down, and 43 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 45,446 points or 36.18% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 55,947 points or 48.60% so far this calendar year.
