WEF lauds NAB’s awareness strategy in its Global Competitive Index Report of 2019

December 17, 2019: World Economic Forum has appreciated the awareness strategy of the National Accountability Bureau in its Global Competitive Index Report of 2019.

This was stated by NAB Chairman retired Justice Javed Iqbal while chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Monday to review Awareness and Prevention Strategy of the anti-graft body.

Javed Iqbal said the recognition is an honour for Pakistan and the Bureau.

The Chairman NAB said that anti-corruption body is mandated to carry out awareness and prevention functions against corruption in pursuance of Section 33-C of National Accountability Ordinance.

Javed Iqbal said during the last 26 months, NAB has recovered 153 billion rupees from corrupt elements and filed 630 corruption references in various Accountability Courts.
