Jun 10, 2022 (MLN): The Weekly Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the Combined Group increased by 2.67% during the week ended Jun 09, 2022 while the SPI increased by 23.98% compared to the corresponding period from last year.

According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) the Combined Index was at 182.88 compared to 178.12 on Jun 02, 2022 while the index was recorded at 147.51 a year ago, on Jun 10, 2021

Out of the 51 monitored items, the average price of 33 items increased, 5 items decreased whereas 13 items registered no change during the week.

The weekly SPI percentage change by income groups showed that SPI increased across all quantiles ranging between 1.72% and 2.99%.

The Lowest Income Group witnessed a weekly increase of 1.72% while the highest income group recorded an increase of 2.99%.

On a yearly basis, analysis of SPI change across different income segments showed that SPI increased across all quantiles ranging between 18.98% and 26.16%.

Yearly SPI for the Lowest Income Group increased by 18.98% while the highest income group recorded an increase of 26.16%.

The average price of Sona urea stood at Rs.2168 per 50 kg bag which is 1.21% higher than last week’s price and 24.1% higher when compared to last year.

Meanwhile, average Cement price was recorded at Rs.936 per 50 kg bag, which is 4.93% higher than the previous week and 49.52% higher than prices last year.
