TPL Properties confirms fire at Korangi Creek extinguished naturally on April 15

April 16, 2025 (MLN): TPL Properties Limited (PSX: TPLP) confirms that the fire, which initially erupted on the evening of March 28, 2025, was naturally extinguished in the early hours of April 15, 2025. This is in continuation of TPLP’s previous updates regarding the fire incident at Korangi Creek.

This is consistent with the timeline anticipated by TPLP and aligns with the assessments provided by industry experts.

However, under the guidance of the Technical Committee and as a precautionary measure, the fire was deliberately reignited on the afternoon of April 15, 2025, to ensure that no residual gas remains that could pose a hazard.

 In line with TPL’s internal policy, the company ensured full compliance with legal, safety, and operational standards before initiating the test water boring activity and had obtained all necessary No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the relevant regulatory bodies.

As part of TPLP’s ongoing efforts in response to the incident, TPL continues to actively support and facilitate the efforts of the Technical Committee and remain fully committed to this proactive and collaborative initiative.

Furthermore, TPLP also takes this opportunity to express sincere gratitude for the continued support, guidance, and coordination extended by the Government of Pakistan, the Honorable Mayor of Karachi, local authorities, the District Administration, Cantonment Board Korangi Creek, Pakistan Refinery Limited, and Pakistan Petroleum Limited during this period.
