March 21, 2019: The Chief Executive Officer of Engro Energy Limited, Ahsan Zafar Syed on Thursday said production of energy from Thar Coal power plant has been started and that would help solve almost all the power related problems in near future.

Talking to a private news channel, he hailed the federal and Sindh government for their support.

Responding to a question he said, “We are likely to start work over mine phase-II and expansion of mine that would help to decrease the power tariff gradually.”

He further explained indigenous fuel is the only solution of energy problems and as the 660 megawatts will be injected in the system in June 2019, it would reduce the current short fall.

"Production of energy from Thar Coal project will prove a revolutionary project as it will meet all the energy crisis in coming years", he said.
