Tajikistan, Pakistan emphasize early execution of CASA-1000 project

May 21, 2024 (MLN): Tajikistan and Pakistan on Tuesday underlined the early implementation of the CASA-1000 project and other connectivity and regional integration projects for the mutual benefit of the two countries and the wider region.

According to the latest update from the Information Ministry, these discussions took center stage between Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Tajikistan's FM Sirojiddin Muhriddin on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting in Astana.

The two Foreign Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and high-level dialogue.

Earlier this month, Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Leghari also stressed the early completion of the CASA-1000 transmission line during a meeting with Charge d’ Affairs of Tajikistan Shafiev Saidjon.

The Power Minister also suggested to initiate the proposal of reverse energy with all the member countries so that surplus supply during the winter season could be exported to the member countries.
