SBP designates NBP, HBL, UBL as important banks
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has declared the designation of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), Habib Bank Limited (HBL), and United Bank Limited (UBL) as Domestic Systemically Important Banks (D-SIBs) for 2025 under the framework introduced in April 2018 and amended in December 2022.

OMO Result: SBP injects over Rs12tr
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) conducted a reverse repo and Shariah Compliant Modarabah based Open Market Operation (OMO) today, in which it cumulatively injected a total of Rs12.68 trillion into the market of which Rs12.4tr were injected through reverse repo OMO.

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of SBP will meet on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 to decide about the Monetary Policy. Governor SBP, Mr. Jameel Ahmad will announce the Monetary Policy decision at a press conference on the same day after the MPC meeting.

Govt borrows Rs382bn debt in a week
The government of Pakistan has acquired an additional debt of Rs381.92 billion during the week ended June 13, 2025, which brings its total net borrowing for ongoing fiscal year 2025 to Rs2.92 trillion, according to the central bank's weekly estimates.
