Sindh govt imposes ban on urban development activities

August 24, 2023 (MLN): A complete ban has been placed on development activities, including layout plans, sub divisions, and building plans, by the Competent Authority, represented by the Caretaker Minister of Local Government and Housing Town Planning Department.

As per a notification issued by the Government of Sindh, Local Government Housing Town Planning Department, this ban is effective immediately in the Sindh Province, and extends to various activities such as sub-divisions, amalgamation, and layout plans for plots, as well as building plans for high-rise structures, both residential cum commercial and commercial plots.

Notably, the ban does not apply to residential houses, NOCs for Housing Schemes and Apartments.

The purpose of this ban is to prevent illegal constructions and unauthorized projects.

All concerned parties are urged to ensure strict compliance without fail.
