SECP, HR metrics hold event on Voluntary Pension Schemes

February 11, 2025 (MLN): The Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), in collaboration with HR Metrics, successfully organized a workshop on “Contributory Pension Benefits under Voluntary Pension Schemes (VPS)” at the SECP Head Office in Islamabad.

The session, was specifically designed for HR leaders and Board members of HR & Remuneration Committees in the corporate sector.

The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of Voluntary Pension Schemes and their regulatory framework, equipping participants with strategic insights into designing contributory pension benefits to attract and retain top talent.

Experts from SECP and the industry provided valuable insights on topics such as tax benefits and financial planning for corporate employees, as well as practical steps for implementing and managing VPS within organizations.

Participants gained valuable knowledge on optimizing employee satisfaction and loyalty through attractive retirement planning options, according to the press release.

The session also highlighted evolving pension trends and compliance requirements, ensuring corporate leaders remained informed about best practices.

Furthermore, discussions focused on how VPS could contribute to long-term organizational sustainability by promoting financial well-being among the workforce.

The workshop received an overwhelmingly positive response, with attendees appreciating the in-depth discussions and networking opportunities it provided.

SECP reaffirmed its commitment to fostering financial literacy and enhancing corporate pension frameworks in Pakistan.

Following the success of the Islamabad session, SECP announced plans to conduct similar workshops in Karachi and Lahore, ensuring broader outreach and engagement with corporate HR leadership across the country.
