SBP to remain closed on July 16, 17 on account of Ashura

July 10, 2024 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on July 16 and 17, 2024 (Tuesday and Wednesday) being public holidays on the occasion of Ashura (09 and 10 Moharram), said a notice issued by the central bank on Wednesday.

"The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed on July 16TH and 17TH, 2024 (Tuesday & Wednesday) being public holidays on the occasion of Ashura (9th & 10th Moharram 1446 A.H)," the notice reads.

Ashura is a day of commemoration in Islam. It occurs annually on the 10th of Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar.
