SBP reserves jump $106m to $10.81bn

October 10, 2024 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $106.3 million or 0.99% WoW to $10.81 billion during the week ended on October 04, 2024, data released by State Bank of Pakistan showed on Thursday.

Similarly, the country's total reserves increased by $64.1m or 0.40% WoW to $16.05bn.

On the other hand, the reserves held by commercial banks fell by $42.2m or 0.80% WoW to $5.24bn.

Last week, SBP reserves surged by $1.17bn amid the first loan tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under EFF program.

In the current fiscal year, SBP-held reserves have increased by $1.42bn or 15.11%.

Meanwhile, the current calendar year has seen an increase of $2.59bn or 31.46%.
