SBP reserves fall to $11bn

March 13, 2025 (MLN): The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) decreased by $151.6 million or 1.35% WoW to $11.1 billion during the week ended on March 07, 2025, data released by State Bank of Pakistan showed on Thursday.

The drop in SBP reserves is attributed to the external debt repayments.

On the other hand, the country's total reserves increased by $55.1m or 0.35% WoW to $15.93bn.

The reserves held by commercial banks rose by $206.7m or 4.47% WoW to $4.83bn.

In the current fiscal year, SBP-held reserves have increased by $1.71bn or 18.19%.

Meanwhile, the current calendar year has seen a decrease of $612.6m or -5.23%.
