SBP increases markup rate for EFS by 2.5%

April 07, 2022 (MLN): In line with the increase in policy rate announced in the MPC meeting today, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has the markup rate for financing under Export Finance Scheme (EFS), both Part I and Part II by 2.5%.

Accordingly, the new rate of EFS is 5.5% per annum which will be effective from April 08, 2022, till further instructions.

SBP further notified that banks' spread for corporate borrowers and SME borrowers will remain unchanged i.e. 1% and 2% respectively.

This revision in rates will not be applicable to financing under the Rupee-based discounting facility of EFS, the notification added.

Meanwhile, the other instructions on the subject shall remain unchanged.
