Rumors regarding removal of finance minister from office discarded

April 15, 2019 (MLN): The markets are currently abuzz with the news of Finance Minister Asad Umar’s removal from the office, following certain media outlets’ reports.

However, as per our channel check, these rumors are baseless and the FM is carrying on with his daily schedule as usual, in his office.

Government declares the news fake:

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Mr. Fawad Chaudhry has clearly denied the rumors regarding Finance Minister’s exclusion from office.

In a public announcement made on his social media page, Mr. Fawad Chaudhry declared the news of removal untrue, further stating that the decision to change ministers is solely Prime Minister’s.

He also requested the local media to handle such news with utmost responsibility, given that Pakistan is currently undergoing critical times.
