Punjab Agriculture Department initiates \"High Efficiency Irrigation System\"

February 6, 2019: Punjab Agriculture Department has initiated a "High Efficiency Irrigation System" in the province for introducing new modes of irrigation aimed at averting wastage of water.

According to official sources, the system would enable growers to save 50 percent irrigation water, besides 25 percent canal water.

Moreover, the provincial government is providing 60 percent subsidy to the farmers for installation of drip sprinkler system.
