PTDC, TDAP sign MoU to promote tourism

April 01, 2022: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here Friday for the promotion of tourism in Pakistan and abroad.

Managing Director, PTDC, Aftab-ur Rehman Rana signed the MoU on behalf of PTDC while Secretary TDAP, Ahsan Ali Mangi signed from TDAP. Muhammed Saleh Ahmed Farooqi, Secretary Commerce and other senior officials of PTDC and T-DAP were also present on this occasion, said a press release.

Through the MoU, both the organizations joined hands to plan, organize, arrange and execute domestic and international events and exhibition for the promotion tourism of the country.

The MoU focuses on planning of domestic and international marketing events that include tourism specific exhibitions, exchange of delegations, seminars, workshops, webinars and conferences on tourism and to facilitate private sector to develop B2B linkages with international counter parts.

MD, PTDC, Aftab ur Rehman Rana on the occasion said, “PTDC being a dedicated national organization on tourism is utilizing maximum resources to promote tourism in the country and facilitate both the local and foreign tourists, I hope this MoU will further strengthen interaction in terms of international exposure of tourism sector, delegation exchange and foreign tourist arrival increase in Pakistan."

The launch of Brand Tourism Pakistan which is in its final stage, will primarily focus to take Pakistan to international marts and connecting to the tourism potentials. PTDC is also launching a range of 20 new publications on tourism and some of them will also be available in different foreign languages including Korean, Japanese, Chines, Arabic, Spanish, French and German for the promotion of Pakistan as a tourist destination in the key international tourist generating markets, he said.

Secretary Commerce congratulated both the organizations and hoped the MoU shall help devise a coherent and unified strategy for the promotion and development of the tourism sector of Pakistan both in domestic and international spheres.
