PTCL has extended its unconditional and complete support to the IT companies impacted due to the devastating fire at Software Technology Park (STP-1) on 10th September. There were a large number of IT companies based at STP 1 in Islamabad which were affected due to this incident.

PTCL has already provided alternate routing of connectivity to Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). It has now offered P@SHA (Pakistan Software Houses Association) free office space to accommodate 150 people at its premises. In addition, PTCL has also offered free voice and data connectivity to IT companies along with preferential rates for Datacenter and Cloud services to support the business continuity requirements of affected IT companies.

Adnan Shahid, Chief Commercial Officer, PTCL said, "We at PTCL are extremely grieved on this incident, especially on the loss of life and property. We are relocating our staff on immediate basis to make office space available for the affected IT companies, so to reduce disruption to their businesses. Being an ICT services provider, IT business is very close to our heart and we will continue working with P@SHA to cater to the requirements of voice and data of all companies."

Mr. Barkan Saeed, Chairman P@SHA thanked PTCL for its support and said "It is heartening to see PTCL playing its role as always to support IT companies at this time of need.  We are particularly impressed by the efforts undertaken by PTCL and the speed at which the national carrier made arrangements for the relocation of its personnel, providing the necessary facilities for us to help our member companies resume their businesses."

PTCL as the leading ICT services provider of Pakistan has always supported IT companies and will continue to play its part in digitization of the country.
