April 28, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 114,063.90, showing a decrease of 1,405.44 points or 1.22%.

The index traded in a range of 2,791.14 points showing an intraday high of 116,658.94 (+1,189.60) and a low of 113,867.80 (-1,601.54) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 190.22 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 26 closed up, 71 closed down, while 3 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were GLAXO (-6.62%), ENGROH (-6.21%), SEARL (-5.91%), PAEL (-5.44%), and PIBTL (-5.23%).

On the other hand, top gainers were SYS (+7.39%), PKGP (+6.38%), EFUG (+4.88%), JDWS (+4.71%), and AICL (+2.50%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-330.09pts), UBL (-239.24pts), MARI (-120.04pts), EFERT (-116.17pts), and PSO (-101.41pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were SYS (+226.49pts), LUCK (+124.98pts), MEBL (+84.07pts), HBL (+54.58pts), and PKGP (+34.39pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-346.65pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-299.25pts), Commercial Banks (-220.30pts), Pharmaceuticals (-148.83pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-140.89pts).

While the index was supported by Technology & Communication (+181.85pts), Insurance (+18.66pts), Leather & Tanneries (+17.50pts), Sugar & Allied Industries (+10.62pts), and Property (+6.05pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 71,163.24 with a net loss of 951.59 points or 1.32%.

Total market volume was 423.94 million shares compared to 471.07m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs26.46 billion showing a decrease of Rs0.85bn.

There were 298,631 trades reported in 449 companies with 93 closing up, 313 closing down, and 43 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 35,619 points or 45.41% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 1,063 points or 0.92% so far this calendar year.
