January 21, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 115,042.25, showing a decrease of 802.56 points or 0.69%.

The index traded in a range of 1,641.14 points showing an intraday high of 116,424.85 (+580.04) and a low of 114,783.71 (-1,061.10) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 338.09 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 31 closed up, 69 closed down, while 0 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were PSX (-5.64%), SEARL (-5.23%), PAEL (-3.99%), NRL (-3.45%), and LOTCHEM (-3.44%).

On the other hand, top gainers were CNERGY (+5.81%), MEHT (+4.64%), KOSM (+4.20%), KTML (+3.00%), and MEBL (+2.20%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were MARI (-158.25pts), HUBC (-131.19pts), OGDC (-90.14pts), LUCK (-89.70pts), and PSO (-73.69pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were FFC (+119.58pts), ENGROH (+104.31pts), MEBL (+76.94pts), MEHT (+21.63pts), and CNERGY (+21.37pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-339.38pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-163.20pts), Cement (-125.49pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-100.71pts), and Pharmaceuticals (-76.98pts).

While the index was supported by Fertilizer (+128.45pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+77.97pts), Textile Composite (+25.48pts), Commercial Banks (+15.04pts), and Paper, Board & Packaging (+5.59pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 71,419.59 with a net loss of 522.76 points or 0.73%.

Total market volume was 767.26 million shares compared to 675.05m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs31.83 billion showing a decrease of Rs5.71bn.

There were 352,096 trades reported in 450 companies with 135 closing up, 266 closing down, and 49 remaining unchanged.
