PSX Closing Bell: Say Something

June 02, 2023 (MLN): The local bourse on Friday opened on a positive note but due to economic and political uncertainty, investors remained cautious.

Resultantly, the benchmark KSE-100 Index managed to add only 86.21 points at the end of the session to close at 41,352.98.

The index traded in a range of 166.02 points showing an intraday high of 41,403.43 and a low of 41,237.41.

The total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 67.59 million shares.

Of the companies in KSE100 46 closed up, 35 closed down, 8 were unchanged while 11 remained untraded.

KSE100 index was supported by Commercial Banks with 59.46, Cement with 32.88, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 16.94, Power Generation & Distribution with 14.43 and Chemical with 13.27 points.

Companies adding points to the index were UBL with 69.13, DAWH with 18.69, DGKC with 17.06, HUBC with 16.35 and LOTCHEM with 14.42 points.

KSE100 Index was let down by Fertilizer with 49.32, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 19.47, Miscellaneous with 7.97, Pharmaceuticals with 4.29 and Refinery with 2.41 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were ENGRO with 54.47, HBL with 16.03, POL with 13.35, EFERT with 9.59 and PSEL with 9.28 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 27,699.53 with a net gain of 76.8 points.

Total market volume was 99.546 million shares with traded value being recorded at 3.34 billion.

There was 57,735 trades reported in 295 companies with 146 closing up, 119 closing down and 30 remaining unchanged.
