April 16, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Wednesday's trading session at 116,020.10, showing a decrease of 755.40 points or 0.65%.

The index traded in a range of 1,647.93 points, showing an intraday high of 117,424.04 (+648.54) and a low of 115,776.11 (-999.39) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 248.07 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies, 25 closed up, 73 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were IBFL (-5.84%), INIL (-3.96%), JVDC (-3.68%), MUGHAL (-3.27%), and TRG (-2.86%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PGLC (+10.01%), POML (+10.00%), ATLH (+4.15%), LCI (+3.20%), and PSX (+2.34%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were MARI (-133.72pts), ENGROH (-118.44pts), PPL (-66.56pts), PSO (-66.39pts), and BAHL (-56.52pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were UBL (+67.83pts), EFERT (+47.60pts), MCB (+34.90pts), LUCK (+26.90pts), and CHCC (+23.49pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-258.32pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-108.01pts), Technology & Communication (-105.94pts), Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-86.51pts), and Pharmaceuticals (-69.10pts).

While the index was supported by Fertilizer (+54.84pts), Automobile Assembler (+14.58pts), Paper, Board & Packaging (+9.40pts), Chemical (+4.58pts), and Tobacco (+4.57pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 72,505.55 with a net loss of 473.21 points or 0.65%.

Total market volume was 481.81 million shares compared to 479.47m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs38.54 billion showing an increase of Rs8.09bn.

There were 313,809 trades reported in 451 companies with 140 closing up, 260 closing down, and 51 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 37,575 points or 47.90% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 893 points or 0.78% so far this calendar year.
