February 06, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 110,301.16, showing a decrease of 1,634.22 points or 1.46%.

The index traded in a range of 2,828.62 points showing an intraday high of 112,234.15 (+298.77) and a low of 109,405.53 (-2,529.85) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 174.30 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 23 closed up, 73 closed down, while 4 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were AKBL (-4.08%), SAZEW (-4.08%), NBP (-3.83%), SYS (-3.80%), and FATIMA (-3.71%).

On the other hand, top gainers were NCPL (+3.70%), NPL (+3.49%), FCEPL (+3.34%), GLAXO (+2.88%), and UNITY (+2.48%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-201.73pts), FFC (-126.13pts), MARI (-125.74pts), SYS (-125.72pts), and PPL (-95.24pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were GLAXO (+23.61pts), CHCC (+13.21pts), PAKT (+11.09pts), SEARL (+9.96pts), and UNITY (+8.84pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-392.47pts), Commercial Banks (-319.62pts), Fertilizer (-226.47pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-210.63pts), and Technology & Communication (-162.07pts).

While the index was supported by Pharmaceuticals (+23.13pts), Food & Personal Care Products (+15.19pts), Tobacco (+11.09pts), Real Estate Investment Trust (+1.99pts), and Synthetic & Rayon (+0.01pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 68,560.47 with a net loss of 805.69 points or 1.16%.

Total market volume was 598.93 million shares compared to 436.32m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs25.63 billion showing an increase of Rs2.40bn.

There were 278,065 trades reported in 435 companies with 101 closing up, 286 closing down, and 48 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 31,856 points or 40.61% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 4,826 points or 4.19% so far this calendar year.
