PSX: Closing Bell - Index Gains 0.27 Percent

Stock Market yesterday saw its record peak when it closed just shy of 51000 points. However, the activity today was rather stale, but market still moved past the 51,000 threshold, a +0.27% increase in the overall points.

Today’s growth was due to a points increase from different sectors. NESTLE, SAPT, COLG, GHNI and WYETH were the top five gainers in today’s session.

Power generation, fertilizer and Cement sector’s average performance was negative, whereas banking sector continued on its yesterday’s momentum. Also, Sugar and Allied Industries and Food and Personal Care Products stocks fared better than other sectors.

All Share Volume increased by 44.11 Million to 370.23 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.25.20 Billion.

Total companies traded were 404 compared to 411 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 177 closed up, 213 closed down while 14 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 19,422 to 124,579.

Value Traded increased by 1.34 Billion to Rs.22.13 Billion
