February 28, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 113,251.66, showing a decrease of 532.64 points or 0.47%.

The index traded in a range of 1,064.13 points showing an intraday high of 114,265.97 (+481.67) and a low of 113,201.84 (-582.46) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 231.45 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 33 closed up, 65 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were SEARL (-6.70%), POML (-5.97%), TGL (-5.67%), NRL (-5.08%), and PSEL (-4.59%).

On the other hand, top gainers were AGP (+10.00%), PIBTL (+7.38%), NML (+6.87%), EFUG (+5.52%), and NBP (+4.95%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were ENGROH (-121.86pts), FFC (-116.33pts), SYS (-94.67pts), MARI (-77.22pts), and EFERT (-58.62pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were BAHL (+77.41pts), NBP (+62.44pts), AGP (+47.12pts), MEBL (+42.16pts), and NML (+33.96pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer (-191.65pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-133.12pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-132.49pts), Technology & Communication (-102.62pts), and Miscellaneous (-42.63pts).

While the index was supported by Commercial Banks (+178.03pts), Textile Composite (+21.89pts), Transport (+17.25pts), Chemical (+15.07pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (+12.93pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,262.65 with a net loss of 288.62 points or 0.41%.

Total market volume was 472.08 million shares compared to 397.39m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs22.78 billion showing an increase of Rs3.45bn.

There were 256,916 trades reported in 444 companies with 119 closing up, 263 closing down, and 62 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 34,807 points or 44.37% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 1,875 points or 1.63% so far this calendar year.
