December 30, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Monday's trading session at 115,258.99, showing an increase of 3,907.82 points or 3.51%.

The index remained positive throughout the day showing an intraday high of 115,422.34 (+4,071.17) and a low of 111,916.70 (+565.53) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 521.36 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 88 closed up, 12 closed down, while 0 were unchanged.

Top gainers during the day were CNERGY (+14.11%), BOP (+10.44%), PGLC (+10.01%), NBP (+10.00%), and DAWH (+10.00%).

On the other hand, top losers were TRG (-4.21%), PABC (-1.64%), JVDC (-1.39%), JDWS (-1.33%), and COLG (-1.13%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were HBL (+296.07pts), DAWH (+257.33pts), MCB (+250.83pts), ENGRO (+231.90pts), and MARI (+229.13pts).

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-53.47pts), TRG (-38.98pts), COLG (-13.74pts), PABC (-6.21pts), and THALL (-4.23pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+1433.81pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+527.67pts), Cement (+360.15pts), Fertilizer (+323.08pts), and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+293.60pts).

While the index was let down by Miscellaneous (-7.08pts), Automobile Parts & Accessories (-4.23pts), Paper, Board & Packaging (-4.16pts), Property (-3.86pts), and Sugar & Allied Industries (-2.58pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 72,133.67 with a net gain of 2,086.83 points or 2.98%.

Total market volume was 1,059.02 million shares compared to 815.92m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs40.89 billion showing an increase of Rs7.97bn.

There were 384,852 trades reported in 465 companies with 333 closing up, 84 closing down, and 48 remaining unchanged.
