January 28, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Tuesday's trading session at 112,030.36, showing a decrease of 1,489.96 points or 1.31%.

The index traded in a range of 2,209.76 points showing an intraday high of 113,644.71 (+124.39) and a low of 111,434.95 (-2,085.37) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 211.43 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 21 closed up, 75 closed down, while 4 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were AGP (-4.11%), SYS (-4.01%), PIOC (-3.67%), JDWS (-3.23%), and ISL (-3.11%).

On the other hand, top gainers were POML (+6.79%), LCI (+2.61%), EFUG (+2.41%), SEARL (+2.18%), and PKGP (+1.52%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were FFC (-304.20pts), ENGROH (-145.84pts), SYS (-136.83pts), MARI (-124.23pts), and OGDC (-115.23pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were UBL (+33.02pts), SEARL (+19.32pts), LCI (+13.41pts), PKGP (+7.72pts), and PSEL (+7.46pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Fertilizer (-337.68pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (-322.62pts), Technology & Communication (-152.20pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (-148.96pts), and Cement (-120.30pts).

While the index was supported by Chemical (+6.46pts), Insurance (+1.48pts), Vanaspati & Allied Industries (+0.99pts), Miscellaneous (+0.23pts), and Property (+0.00pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 69,179.42 with a net loss of 794.67 points or 1.14%.

Total market volume was 517.80 million shares compared to 494.00m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs29.21 billion showing an increase of Rs3.27bn.

There were 302,648 trades reported in 436 companies with 94 closing up, 279 closing down, and 63 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 33,585 points or 42.81% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 3,097 points or 2.69% so far this calendar year.
