Power Division refutes rumors of ending net metering policy

June 06, 2024 (MLN): The Power Division has once again refuted the media reports circulating about the end of the net metering policy, clarifying that the news is baseless and false, a statement issued by the division disclosed.

Federal Minister for Power Sardar Owais Leghari said that despite repeated denials and policy statements, an attempt is being made to spread unease and anxiety in the country and the public by spreading false news on the net metering policy.

He further expressed his concerns that the practice of running news items without verification is completely against responsible journalism.

"No instructions have been received from the Prime Minister regarding the Net Metering Policy and the power division should have taken a stand against the various channels that ran such misleading news," he added.
