PMEX trading surges 46% to clock in at Rs38.29bn

Trading activity at PMEX soars by 20.5% DoD

May 06, 2024 (MLN): The trading activity at the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Friday soared by 46% DoD to clock in at Rs38.29 billion with the number of lots traded at 25,593. 

While, the commodity exchange closed at 10,411, up by 0.99% DoD.

Gold remained in the limelight, contributing significantly to the trading volume with transactions worth Rs23.46bn. Following closely behind, Currencies through COTS recorded trading valued at Rs5.99bn.

NSDQ 100 also made a prominent spot, clocking in at Rs3.67bn. In addition, Crude Oil, Silver, and Platinum attracted substantial attention from investors as well and their transactions stood around Rs1.73bn, Rs1.27bn and Rs1.10bn, respectively.

Moreover, Natural Gas transactions reached Rs98.97m, DJ at Rs475.2m, Copper at Rs133.84m, S&P 500 at Rs150.11m, JPY equity at Rs74.12m and Brent at Rs16.99m.

In the agricultural commodities segment, Cotton saw active trading, with 57 lots amounting to Rs80.49m changing hands.
