PMEX inaugurates World Investor Week 2024

October 06, 2024 (MLN): Mr Akif Saeed, Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), officially inaugurated the 8th World Investor Week 2024 at a prestigious ceremony organized by Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) in Karachi, according to a press statement by PMEX. 

World Investor Week is an annual global campaign by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) to raise awareness of investor education and protection, it added.

While it runs globally from October 7 to 13, PMEX has proactively started earlier and extended the event beyond the week.

PMEX with the support and guidance of SECP, will organize a series of investor outreach, education, and awareness events to promote financial literacy and empower investors across Pakistan.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed participation from notable figures across various sectors, including leadership from the capital market, insurance, academic institutions, professional bodies, futures and commodity brokers, and leading asset management companies.

"World Investor Week 2024 promises to be a significant step toward enhancing investor education and promoting the culture of informed investment decisions across Pakistan’s financial landscape," the statement reads.
