PKR weakens by 10 paisa against USD

March 10, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) decreased by 10.09 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.07 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 279.97.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.15 and a low (ask) of 280.05.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 279.20 for buying and 281.75 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 11.48 paisa or 0.04% against the Euro, closing at 303.13 compared to the previous value of 303.25.

Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 22.00 paisa or 0.06% to 361.01 compared to 361.23 a day ago.

The local unit fell 34.97 paisa or 0.11% against Swiss franc to close at 318.39.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value fell 0.30 paisa or 0.16% to close the session at 1.8988 versus 1.8958 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee rose 7.68 paisa or 0.20% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.56 from 38.63.

The local currency deteriorated by 1.89 paisa or 0.03% against Saudi Riyal to 74.65. While it decreased by 2.74 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.26.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has weakened against the US Dollar by 1.73 rupees or 0.62%. While it has fell 1.52 rupees or 0.54% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 3bps to 11.53% and 11.78%.
