PKR gains ground by 16 paisa per USD

March 26, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 15.77 paisa or 0.06% against the US dollar in Wednesday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 280.26 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.42.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 280.45 and a low (ask) of 280.25.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 279.50 for buying and 282.10 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR rose 17.02 paisa or 0.06% against the Euro, closing at 302.39 compared to the previous value of 302.56.

Against the British Pound, PKR gained by 23.18 paisa or 0.06% to 361.82 compared to 362.05 a day ago.

The local unit decreased 23.42 paisa or 0.07% against Swiss franc to close at 317.27.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 0.38 paisa or 0.20% to close the session at 1.8640 versus 1.8602 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee strengthened 2.68 paisa or 0.07% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.58 from 38.61.

The local currency appreciated by 4.21 paisa or 0.06% against Saudi Riyal to 74.71. It gained by 4.30 paisa or 0.06% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.30.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has depreciated against the US Dollar by 1.92 rupees or 0.69%. While it has fell 1.71 rupees or 0.61% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 11.75% and 12.00%.
