March 31, 2022 (MLN): The ongoing political uncertainty and fear of the unknown have pushed the Pakistani rupee (PKR) towards a fall of a further 96 paisa in early trade, witnessing another historic low.

The dollar was being quoted at 183.40/ 183.60 (10:06 PST) when compared to the previous day’s close of 182.64 against the greenback.

“The uncertainty is damaging to the economy. In case of a no-confidence vote, resignation could follow and the country could be heading for elections,” Asad Rizvi, the former Treasury Head at Chase Manhattan said in his early morning tweet.
