Petroleum products production grows 6.5% in 5MFY24

January 17, 2024 (MLN): The production of petroleum products witnessed an increase of 6.49% YoY during the first five months of FY24, data issued by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) showed.

Petroleum and oil lubricants (POL) products that showed positive growth were Kerosene oil, Motor spirits, High speed diesel, Diesel oil n.o.s., Furnace oil, and LPG.

These products saw a surge in production by 6.4%, 5.18%, 12.52%, 40.08%, 14.73%, and 4.43% YoY, respectively, during the reviewed period.

On the flip side, negative growth was observed in the production of Jet fuel oil, Lubricating oil, Jute batching oil, Solvant Naptha, and Petroleum prods: n.o.s., demonstrating declines of 12.45%, 35.65%, 20.49%, 3.62%, and 11.78% YoY, respectively.

On a monthly basis, the production of petroleum products witnessed an increase of 2.77% MoM in November.
