PM Shehbaz directs reduction in petrol price by Rs15.4

Petrol price reduced by another Rs15.4 in third consecutive cut

May 31, 2024 (MLN): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed to reduce the price of petrol by another significant Rs15.39 to Rs257.7 per litre, the state-owned news agency Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

This decline would be the third in a row, and on top of the Rs15.39 cut from the previous fortnight.

"In a major decision on Friday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the Ministry of Finance to cut the price of petrol by Rs15.4 per liter and that of diesel by Rs7.9 per liter, " the prime minister said in a statement released by the PM Office.

To recall, in the last fortnight, the government slashed the price of petrol by Rs15.39 to Rs273.1 per litre.

Similarly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) was reduced by Rs7.88 to Rs274.08 per litre.
