Pakistan’s Yearly inflation at 3.25 Percent in March

Despite a rise in food, petroleum, and the transport prices coupled with Rupee depreciation the inflation remains on a relatively downward slide.

According to figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the Yearly Inflation rate in March 2018 was 3.25 percent compared to 3.80 percent in February 2018 and 4.94 percent in March 2017. 
The July-March average inflation is 3.78 percent compared to 4.01 percent from the corresponding period last year.

Market Expectation of Inflation for March was between 2.9% and 3.26%.

The inflation numbers were much above the average market expectations of 3.00 percent contributed mainly by the jump in Education Group +17.60 percent, Restaurant & hotel +6.21 percent and 5.85 percent during the period.
