Pakistan’s Trade deficit improves by 33.04 percent during July-November of FY20

Dec 11, 2019 (MLN): Pakistan's trade deficit for 5 months (July-November) FY20 was USD 9.67 billion compared to a deficit of USD 14.44 billion from the corresponding period from FY19.

According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the trade deficit for the month of November 2019 was recorded at USD 1.929 billion compared to a deficit of USD2.05 billion from October 2019 showing an improvement of 5.9 percent.

Compared to November 2018 deficit of USD 2.742 billion, the trade numbers improved by 29.65 percent

Exports decreased by 0.64 percent to USD 2.011 billion compared to USD 2.024 billion in October 2019.

However compared to November 2018 exports increased by 9.35 percent

Imports in November 2019 decreased by 3.29 percent, clocking in at USD 3.94 billion compared to USD 4.074 billion in October 2019.

Similarly compared to November 2018 imports decreased by 13.99 percent

Overall the 5 month exports stood at USD 9.545 billion compared to USD 9.109 from the corresponding period of last year, showing a decrease of 4.79 percent. However Imports during the period decreased by 18.41 percent to USD 19.213 billion compared to USD 23.548 from the same period of FY19.
