April 14, 2025 (MLN): The goal of rapidly progressing and prospering Pakistan will be achieved through collective efforts, the prayers of the entire nation, and relentless hard work, said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The commencement of the first annual Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad is a significant achievement, as it allows expatriates to reconnect with their homeland, he noted.

He further added that the convention also provides the overseas Pakistanis with a valuable opportunity to highlight their legitimate concerns and issues to be addressed promptly.

He said that overseas Pakistanis are dedicated to enhancing Pakistan's reputation through their tireless efforts and hard work in the countries where they reside, as per the press release issued.

The Prime Minister said that overseas Pakistanis contribute billions of dollars to the country's economy every year, and this year saw a substantial increase in their remittances.

Answering a question regarding his recent visit to Belarus, Shehbaz Sharif said that an understanding had been reached with the Belarusian leadership to send 150,000 skilled workers from Pakistan to Belarus.

In response to another question, he urged the interim government of Afghanistan to adhere to the Doha Accord, which prohibits the use of Afghan soil by terrorists for carrying out acts of terrorism.

Unfortunately, terrorist organizations like the TTP are operating from Afghanistan.

He highlighted that these terrorist entities have martyred innocent Pakistanis and emphasized that the sacrifices of the people of Pakistan, the armed forces, and other law enforcement agencies will not be in vain.

Shehbaz Sharif called on the interim Afghan authorities to take immediate action to control terrorist organizations operating within Afghanistan and to prevent them from using Afghan soil for terrorist activities.
