Pakistan’s Exports to most of the countries observe increase during Jul-Dec FY19

January 22, 2019 (MLN):  Sharing land borders with China, India and Afghanistan, Pakistan shipped products worth US$11.8 billion around the globe during Jul-Dec FY19, up by 0.07% as compared to the same period FY18.

From a continental perspective, US$2.16 billion (18.28%) worth of Pakistan’s exports were delivered to North America during the period under review, while US$1.7 billion (14.3%)   arrived in Western Europe. However, smaller percentages went to other continents.

Although Pakistan trades with a large number of countries, its exports are however highly concentrated in few countries including USA, UK, China, Germany, UAE, Afghanistan, Netherlands, Spain, Italy and Bangladesh.

The United States was the largest export market for Pakistan, during the period under review, it accounted for 17% (US$ 2 billion) of Pakistan’s total exports followed by UK (US$ 894.1 million), China (US$ 883.4 million), Germany (US$ 647 million) and UAE (US$ 636.7 million).

Compared to same period last year, Pakistan’s exports to the top major export destinations like Germany declined by 4.2%, Afghanistan dipped by 27.6%, Saudi Arabia by 7.9% while that of Hong Kong and Spain declined by 27.2% and 3.8% respectively.
