June 25, 2020 (MLN): The International Monetary Fund (IMF) in its Weekly Economic Outlook report released on Wednesday stated that it expects Pakistan’s economy to show one percent growth in Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21).

IMF’s projection is contrasting to that of the Government, which expects Pakistan to witness a growth of 2.1 percent in FY21.

Not just Pakistan, but most of the world economies are likely to suffer in the upcoming fiscal year, IMF reported. The period between January 2021 and March 2021 is going to be specifically hard for the global economy.

IMF has also stated that the countries that have controlled or are in the process of controlling the pandemic, might face another wave of Coronavirus.
